Memories of sparklers and warm nights are tied together in mind. Trying to capture fireflies in jars, running up and down the yard. And at some point, someone brings out the sparklers, because they aren’t just for 4th of July. How perfect.
The below picture is not one that I took. Instead, it’s one of those free stock pictures that I see used in a lot of blogs. But I enlarged it and focused on the sparkler instead of the girl holding it. I hope it inspires you, brings back some summer memories. Have fun with this creativity prompt.
We love summer time and especially the 4th of July. I remember catching fire flies, but now I never see them anymore. I hope my adult eyes just haven’t noticed them but my boys will ?
I saw some fireflies this year, but then it got cold and damp again and I haven’t seen them since. I hear there’s a warm spell starting. Soon they keep saying. The Connecticut early spring weather seems to be extending later every year.
Yes I’m your neighbor in Rhode Island. Finally the sun and warmth are on their way ?
Maybe we’ll see more fireflies again now that the warmth is coming.
Hi. New to your blog. We were camping in E. Tennessee on Memorial Day Weekend. My granddaughter and nephew were so excited to catch fireflies! It was amazing to see their sheer joy of catching/releasing them!!!
I love watching kids chasing after fireflies. Kids understand they are the fairies of the night. I’m glad you found my blog and hope you’ll find other posts that you enjoy.
We have sparklers and fireworks when we have Bonfire Night on November 5th to celebrate having hung, drawn & quartered some men for trying to blow up Parliament. Cos who wouldn’t celebrate that?! My main sparkler memory from Bonfire Night is my sister grabbing one as a toddler by the sparkling end. We had to go to the hospital.
