Take creative chances. Learning to innovate
isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being
creative and having fun.

Creativity is inventing, growing, taking risks,
breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun.

Being able to relax and have fun is just as important to your creativity as practicing your craft. New experiences fuel creativity. You can only output work if you input inspiration. Whether it’s going out and laughing with your friends or spending time looking at clouds. Whether you are trying to imagine new uses for old objects or reading a book for pleasure….all are adding to your Creativity Toolbox.

Yes! If we don’t keep filling the well of creativity by getting out in nature, to a gallery, museum or seaside etc, the well runs dry. When I started my crafts website a couple of years back, the main quote I used was ‘To be creative we must lose our fear of being wrong’ by Joseph Chilton Pearce. I changed it slightly but it’s still his quote. And that’s how I open all my workshops. I tell people they need to lose any fear they have of getting it ‘wrong’ and to find ways of filling the creative well until it is overflowing to the point where they will HAVE to use their ideas to stop from drowning in them. So many people tell me I’m lucky to be ‘so creative’ and I love seeing their reaction to becoming awakened to their OWN creativity when I show them simple ways to tap into it. Life gets more wonderful when we let creativity flow.
Gilly, you sound like me. You should read this guest post that I did on Carol’s blog this week. https://carolcassara.com/universe-2/

I love coloring. You can get lost in it.
I really need something to get lost in at the moment!!
The more art and nature we experience the more inspired we are to create it x
Yes! In order to continue being creative, we need to continue fueling it through nature, art, play, and any number of activities that stimulate our senses.
You are so right. Taking time off is very important. It refuels you!
