September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.  Can you talk like a pirate? This holiday keeps getting bigger and bigger.  Last year Facebook allowed you to change the language on your posts to English (Pirate) so everything you wrote was translated into a fun Pirate version.

Check out the official International Talk Like a Pirate Day website.  This site is manned by the very people who started this holiday.  Here you’ll find party ideas, songs and popular words and phrases in Pirate speak.  They even have this in German and Dutch.  Better not call a German pirate a Küstenschiffer or you might find yourself being Kielholen.

By the time you read this post, I’ll be sitting on a beach in Florida practicing me Pirate speak. Aargh!

The autumn wind is a pirate. Blustering in from sea with a rollicking song
he sweeps along swaggering boisterously.
His face is weather-beaten, he wears a hooded sash with a silver hat about his head
The autumn wind is a Raider, pillaging just for fun.
