This is an old creativity prompt. I might have gotten from Writer’s Digest or somewhere else back in the day. The prompt was to just write as many lines as possible that started with “The last time…” I changed it up a little bit and added to it so it became “It would be the last time…” The below writing prompt is one of the lines that came out of this exercise. Your challenge is to finish the story.
