The first step towards change is awareness.
The second step is acceptance.
Nathaniel Branden
We’ve all heard the phrase that change is inevitable. Change happens whether we want it to or not.
As each day goes by, nature reminds us of change. The sun rises and sets. The moon waxes and wanes. Leaves turn green, then brown and fall off the trees. Even flowers grow and bloom and die as the seasons move from one to the next. Change happens.
Yet change is something that many of us resist. Why do we resist? Fear for one. Complacency for another. Fear of the unknown stops us from starting. But complacency, being ok with where we already are can stop us.
Which of these two sides of the same stick stops you?

Thank you for sharing this. So many people fear change, but sometimes it’s evitable. We must allow ourselves to go with change for fear of becoming stagnant and not experiencing all life has to offer.
so true and such a common scenario. Fear of the unknown gets me most often. But without venturing toward that, we can never grow.
Exactly.
Do you know where does Nathaniel Branden said that? I´m trying to quote him and I need to put where he said it and I can´t find it.
Unfortunately, I don’t know where the quote originated from. I found it because I was looking for a specific quote about change.
