I can preach about the importance of play and imagination on creativity and innovation, but I thought I would let the experts say it best.
You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.

Serious play is not an oxymoron; it is the essence of innovation.

I am just a child who has never grown up. I still keep asking these ‘how’ and ‘why’ questions. Occasionally, I find an answer.

Creative people are curious, flexible, persistent, and independent with a tremendous spirit of adventure and a love of play.

I loved the quotes you chose. Yes, sometimes I’d like to be a fairy instead of a human – good one Greta aged 4! 🙂 (and thank you for your comment over on my blog recently too 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Jo. I’m glad you liked the quotes.
Hi Jennifer, great quotes and yes some days I wish I could be a fairy! I have rediscovered play and imagination through my darling grandson, Ethan. He is now 4 but over the 4 years we have discovered so many new and fun things to do and imagine. Some days we are pirates on a sinking ship, other days we are back in prehistoric times with the dinosaurs. I love hearing him create stories as he plays. We should never lose our inner child, should we? Have a great week!:)
You are so right. And it sounds like your inner child is a Pirate Queen! I love it.
I love them all but the last quote sums it up really well in my opinion. Great way to show the importance of playing. I’d still rather be a fairy through ?
I loved the quotes! I was a pre-school teacher for years, and we used a play-based curriculum. I don’t know how many times I would explain to parents all of the many ways they were learning through play. So many thought they should be doing pre-printed worksheets, etc. So much learning through play, especially if you grab those teachable moments!
I’ve seen too many kids grilled on pre-printed worksheets by their parents. They turn into teenagers and young adults with ulcers. And worse, they are smart but not innovative.
