Christmas reminds me of children’s toys. The church I used to go to would hold a Christmas Bazaar every December. One of the parishioners would collect used toys. He would fix them and clean them up and resell them at the Bazaar and then donate the money to the church. His toys were so popular that people would line up outside the church waiting for the Bazaar to open. This Teddy Bear reminds me of a toy waiting to be played with. Why is that Teddy in the corner?
What story does this Teddy make you think of? Find more creativity prompts here.
His coat was chewed by moth, his muzzle was too big, his eyes too close and beady. He tried so hard to be liked, he stared hard to make his eyes appear bigger until moisture dripped from the stitches. Albert at seven wasn’t impressed … a soft bear cramped his style so in the corner he was put.
Chester dejected, rejected and alone was determined to win Albert over. For as many moons as he could count on his claws, as many threads he could count as bare; Chester planned how if given the chance how he would make himself invaluable once more .
His life devoid of cuddles his heart slowly ebbed of all love.Chester had almost given up on any thoughts of being hugged again.
One Winters day about half past four Albert ran into the room, at the sound of his sobs Chester’s heart began to twitch slowly as he warmed. He willed him to look his way, silently begged him to come to the corner. With a gasp a hicough Albert reached out his hand and drew the bear close. Albert slept his best sleep that night and Chester with his different look, his beady eyes and threadbare coat taught Albert to love; regardles of age or disability. And he never again put Teddy in the corner. The End.
Happy new year x
